About PlugOrPump
A free, independent price finder for UK drivers: the cheapest petrol and diesel near you, and the nearest EV chargers.
Why it exists
Fuel prices for the same grade can differ by several pence a litre between forecourts a mile or two apart, and EV charging prices vary even more. Since 2026, every UK forecourt has had to publish its prices through the government's Fuel Finder service, and EV charging operators have to publish theirs as open data. PlugOrPump turns that data into a quick answer: put in a postcode, see the cheapest options nearby on a map, and get directions.
There's no app to install, no account and no sign-up. The site works on any phone or computer.
Who runs it
PlugOrPump is run by PlugOrPump Management, an independent operator based in the UK. It isn't owned by, or affiliated with, any fuel retailer, charging network, supermarket or government body.
Where the prices come from
- Petrol and diesel: the government's Fuel Finder service. By law, forecourts must report a price change within 30 minutes. We import the full dataset every 20 minutes and leave out forecourts marked as closed.
- EV chargers: charging operators' own open data, published under the Public Charge Point Regulations 2023, refreshed hourly. Where an operator doesn't publish a feed, we use Open Charge Map, a community-maintained database. Every price on the site says which of the two it came from.
- Postcodes: postcodes.io, using Ordnance Survey and ONS open data.

How the site is paid for
PlugOrPump is free to use and will be funded by advertising. Adverts never affect the results: stations are always listed by price or by distance, whichever you choose, and no retailer or operator can pay to appear higher.
